Sometimes We Need Coaxing To Act On Our Own

The (Job) Hunting Of The Snark

Over the course of the ongoing job hunt, I’ve come across only one position worth not merely the applying, but worth actually pursuing.

I won’t go into what it was, or who it was with. But after doing a first-round interview via email earlier this week, tonight brought with it word that the person they originally had wanted for the position, but who they didn’t think was available, apparently turned out to be available.

So the routine of the hunt continues, without (tangential though this is) the benefit of any network I self-importantly believed might have developed as a result of the site I recently shut down after nearly three years.

Which, of course, is a snipingly needless thing to say, but is the sort of thing that most immediately comes to mind, as I’m not thinking especially straight at the moment.
