Teaching Civics In West Linn, Oregon
Last month, I got a little riled up over civics lessons at a public school up in Washington.
All in all, it was nothing compared to the recent story of a student in West Linn who was expelled because he filmed a gay love story for a class project.
Now that I’m finally noticing the story, it seems that the school backed down and has rescinded his expulsion — which the school termed a “mandatory transfer” while insisting it had never technically expelled him.
So there isn’t much left to say that hasn’t been said countless times over. But I did want to make sure I joined the blogs and other sites which made sure not to let the debacle go unnoticed.
