I suppose that part of the genius particular to South Park is the near impossibility of ever quite accurately or adequately predicting what they will do.
Seriously, could anyone have foreseen just where they were going to go with the departure of Chef?
(And by that I mean the specifics. Obviously, the basic template wasn’t difficult to assume early on.)
Although, now I wish I had bothered to mention my other prediction, which did come to pass, as to just how they were going to deal with Chef speaking. Just what they would have him saying, however, I surely did not see coming.
Parker and Stone are somewhat notorious for not wanting to do what people expect them to do, as they asserted on their one and only appearance on Charlie Rose. And so, in that light, I rather adore the switcheroo they pull with the moral of the story towards the end.
