Ramrod

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

Apparently, a “conservative theologian” with a book to peddle appeared on FOX News to explain that men should be men and we should stop raising “nice” boys. “You look at the culture, the movies, the television,” he reportedly said, “and it always shows boys and men being these morons that a woman or a gay man has to take by the hand and lead us through the fog or we’re not going to make it.” I mention this only because this conservative theologian seems to have a pretty gay shirt on, and makes sure to use the word “ramrod”, so maybe he’s projecting.

Told You So

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

So now comes word that the president of the eponymous Robert King’s House of Wingnuttery has sent a letter (pdf) to Mayor Potter, in which King states that he will be coming to the table not to “evaluate racial profiling issues in this community and help to identify ways to eliminate it as soon as possible” (in Potter’s words), but instead simply “to explain that we do not engage in racial profiling”.

Bed Head

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

This week I am suffering from an acute case of Bed Head, wherein you really would rather just spend the entire week in bed. Walk To The Tram?

Monday, January 29th, 2007

On the flyer posted outside the house for sale across from work, nestled in amongst the usual sorts of things you’d expect (3 bedrooms, “lots of hardwood floors”, on block to bus line) is a list of places to which you can walk from this house. That list begins with these words: “Walk to the Tram”.

Don’t Recycle, Reuse

Monday, January 29th, 2007

They are removing and recycling the old shelters on the transit mall. I still think they should reuse them, not recycle them — repurpose them into newsstands on one end and public restrooms on the other, and scatter them around downtown. The premise of that combination being that the newsstand would mean there were eyes on the restrooms at all times. Oh, and add a hot pretzel operation to the newsstand, because we need hot pretzel vendors everywhere.

Dinesh D’Souza Thinks Things Through?

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Apparently, according to Newsweek, the new Dinesh D’Souza book blames liberals for being a “domestic insurgency” aiding and abetting terrorists and are “at least as dangerous as any of bin Laden’s American sleeper cells.” It’s too bad it’s his own positions which most closely relate to those of the terrorists.
