It was an open question who the Dems would offer up for slaughter. Funny thing about sure things...they often are not. The economy turned and the vote took another path. So when I hear things like "free swing come 2008" I can not but be reminded of the recent failures of the Dems to create a presidential stump to stand on. Now sure you can say it was vote fraud or a fanatical right wing bumrush, even so I think the Dems need to take 2008 more seriously than they have ever taken a presidential run.
