Transparent, Yet Dense
The mysterious “k” (or, really, Kyle Chisek, on loan from Major Tom’s office to act as Team Potter’s campaign treasurer) continues his efforts at spin control (see comments). It’s not much of an attempt, really, since we all know the story: Team Potter spent the last five weeks soliciting contributions from Jim Francesconi’s mayoral campaign funders, but kept it to themselves for as long as they thought was politically feasible. The fact that they did a report dump all at once, after waiting until the last possible moment to file the first one, doesn’t change the fact that Team Potter has been stalling, despite their professed support for accountability, transparency, and oversight. The only thing transparent in all of this has been the fact that so many of us saw right through the cynical maneuverings from the beginning.
