What ‘Firefly at the Mission’ Is Not (IMHO)
Disclaimer first: Firefly at the Mission isn’t a PDX Browncoats event. And I’m not the duly-appointed speaker for all PDX Browncoats. So when I say this, it’s just me saying it, for the benefit of anyone not from our group’s regular circle who might stumble upon this.
Firefly at the Mission isn’t Mystery Firefly Theater 3000. You might think you’re being funny yelling “whatever” when Book talks about “faith fixes you”, but you’re not. You’re just being a jackass. That character comes from Joss. The lines come from Joss and his writers. There are, of course, religious people who like Firefly, too.
Firefly at the Mission also isn’t the Firefly Talk-Along. You might think you’re being clever, being able to complete the actors’ lines before they do, but you’re not. You’re just being an idiot.
If you want to attend Mystery Firefly Theater 3000 or the Firefly Talk-Along, then pony up the cashy money for the public performance rights, or find a sponsor to do so, and hold that event.
Otherwise, shut the fuck up.
