September Rivalry: Big Game Pitching?

I know that this is blasphemy, but I’m tired of the slack Red Sox Nation cuts Curt Schilling. The cliche goes something like this: We accept his ups and downs during the year, because he’s a Big Game Pitcher, and we want him around when it counts. Well, I have news for Red Sox Nation: When it’s mid-September in the midst of a pennant race, the rubber game of a series against the Yankees is a Big Game. And, whether or not you want to accept it, this is not a Big Game Pitcher.
