The AMPTP likes to paint a picture of every writer being rich. People with anything above a middling number of brain cells knows it’s bullshit. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any rich writers. There are. And apparently they’re banding together in support of whatever deal the directors get from the AMPTP (even though no one, themselves included, has any earthly idea what such a deal would look like), with the intention of then cramming that deal down the throats of their fellow writers. So thoughtful and considerate of the so-called “A-listers” (clearly a descriptor only of their monetary worth and not of the content of their character), who get more than enough cash from the companies of the AMPTP, to step up and try to preemptively screw over all of the other writers who do not.
